Current

Lane closures

5 a.m. Mon, April 7 through fall

• I-94 is reduced to two lanes in both directions between 11th Ave. South and Franklin Ave. Southeast

5 a.m. Mon, March 31 through June

• The following ramps are reduced to one lane:
• Southbound I-35W to eastbound Hwy 55
• Westbound Hwy 55 to westbound I-94
• Westbound Hwy 55 to South 7th St.

Ramp closures

3 p.m. Sun, April 6 through Sat, May 17

• Westbound I-94 to South 7th St.
• Detour: Westbound I-94, northbound Cedar Ave., westbound Washington Ave. South, southbound 11th Ave. South and South 7th St.

Through June

• The following ramps are closed:
  • Westbound I-94 to Riverside Ave.
    • Detour: Westbound I-94, northbound Cedar Ave. and Riverside Ave.
  • Riverside Ave./Butler Pl. South to westbound I-94
    • Detour: Southbound 25th Ave. South, westbound East Franklin Ave., southbound Cedar Ave., northbound Hwy 55 and westbound I-94
  • Huron Blvd. to I-94
    • Huron Blvd. to eastbound I-94 detour: Eastbound University Ave. Southeast, southbound North Eustis St., eastbound Franklin Ave. and eastbound I-94
    • Huron Blvd. to westbound I-94 detour: Westbound University Ave. Southeast, northbound Southeast Oak St., westbound Southeast 4th St., southbound I-35W and westbound I-94

9 p.m. Fri, April 4 through late April

• The ramp from South 6th St. to eastbound I-94 is closed
• Detour: Northbound 11th Ave. South, eastbound Washington Ave. South, southbound Cedar Ave. and eastbound I-94

Trail closures

5 a.m. Mon, April 7 through Fri, May 2

• The Hiawatha LRT trail between 15th Ave. South and East Franklin Ave. is closed
• Pedestrian detour: Cedar Ave. (PNG)
• Bicyclist detour: 20th Ave. South and South 6th St. (PNG)

About this project

We will be doing maintenance and repair work on five bridges along I-94 in Minneapolis. These bridges include:

• I-94 bridge (Dartmouth Bridge) that spans the Mississippi River
• Riverside Ave. bridge over I-94
• I-94 over Cedar Ave.
• I-94 over the Light Rail Transit (Blue Line)
• I-94 over Hwy 55/Hiawatha Ave.

• Construct temporary crossovers
• Repair bridge decks
• Resurface bridge pavement
• Remove and replace bridge joints
• Update guardrails
• Upgrade drainage
• Repaint bridge steel
