Summary of work
The Olmsted Co. Rd. 35 bridge over I-90 is being replaced in 2024 northwest of Stewartville. Construction is scheduled to begin July 8. The bridge demo is scheduled to occur Friday, July 12 from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Monday, July 15. It is anticipated that the project will be completed by late-October.
Traffic impacts
Motorists on Co. Rd. 35 will be detoured at the bridge work zone at I-90.
- To reach Co. Rd. 35 west of I-90
- From Hwy 63, motorists should go west on Co. Rd. 6 then north on Co. Rd. 8 to reach Co. Rd. 35 west of I-90
- From I-90, motorists should exit at Co. Rd. 6 and go west, then north on Co. Rd. 8 to reach Co. Rd. 35 west of I-90
- To reach Co. Rd. 35 east of I-90
- From Co. Rd. 8, motorists should go south, then east on Co. Rd. 6 and then north on Hwy 63 to reach Co. Rd. 35 east of I-90
- From I-90, motorists should exit at Co. Rd. 6 and go east, then north on Hwy 63 to reach Co. Rd. 35 west of I-90
I-90 will be temporarily closed and detoured during demolition, when new beams are set, and when the concrete for the new bridge deck is poured. Exact dates and detour route will be announced once the schedule is set.
- The bridge demolition is scheduled to occur Friday, July 12 from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Monday, July 15. I-90 will be closed at the bridge during the demolotion. The following are the detours.
- I-90 eastbound motorists should take Exit 205, go east on Co. Rd. 6, go north on Hwy 63 and then exit to I-90 east
- I-90 westbound motorists should take Exit 209A, go south on Hwy 63, go west on Co. Rd. 6 and then exit to I-90 west
