MnDOT - A Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Organization
On December 7, 2023, Governor Tim Walz proclaimed the Minnesota Department of Transportation to be a Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Organization in the State of Minnesota.
Mission Statement
In continuing Minnesota's proud history of supporting our nation's military, the Beyond the Yellow Ribbon network is a diverse group of employees and organizational leaders uniting key areas within broad, organizationally structured companies to leverage existing support activities, build awareness and take action to recognize and support service members, veterans and military families.
MnDOT Veterans Employee Resource Group (VERG)
Mission
The Veterans Employee Resource Group will provide support and information to current military members, veterans and their families to encourage and promote MnDOT’s support of veterans.
Goals
- Encourage and assist individual career development planning for all group members
- Provide veteran translation assistance between military and civilian skills and schools
- Educate coworkers about veterans and the value they add to the workplace
- Assist MnDOT in becoming known as a veteran-supportive place to work
Focus areas
The Veterans Employee Resource Group will serve as employment and informational resource for both internal and external populations on veteran issues.

- January 4, 2024: Sgt. Cade Wolfe Fallen Hero Procession
- February 4, 2024: Operation Orange Overwatch, escorting 34th Infantry Division Red Bulls service members from the Arden Hills Armory to the airport.
