Transportation Research Syntheses (TRS)
A Transportation Research Synthesis (TRS) is a short-turnaround research report that addresses a specific research topic. TRSs include summaries of completed and in-progress research, or reports about the state of the practice among departments of transportation (DOTs).
A TRS goes beyond the scope of literature searches; it can include interviews or surveys, and the resources found are clearly organized and summarized — with contact names, web links and other specifications.
