Minnesota Freight Advisory Committee (MFAC)

The mission of MFAC is to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and addressing of issues between MnDOT and the private sector to develop and promote a safe, reliable, efficient and environmentally responsible freight transportation system for the state.

Mid-America Freight Coalition (MAFC)

The Mid-America Freight Coalition is a regional organization that cooperates in the planning, operation, preservation, and improvement of transportation infrastructure in the Midwest. The ten states of the AASHTO Mid-America Association of State Transportation Officials (MAASTO) share key interstate corridors, inland waterways, and the Great Lakes.

Conference of Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Governors and Premiers

The Conference of Great Lakes St. Lawrence Governors & Premiers unites the chief executives from Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, Ohio, Ontario, Pennsylvania, Québec and Wisconsin. The Governors and Premiers work as equal partners to grow the region’s $6 trillion economy and protect the world’s largest system of surface fresh water. 

Upper Mississippi River Basin Association

The Upper Mississippi River Basin Association (UMRBA) is a regional interstate organization formed by the Governors of Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, and Wisconsin to coordinate the states' river-related programs and policies and work with federal agencies that have river responsibilities. UMRBA is involved with programs related to commercial navigation, ecosystem restoration, water quality, aquatic nuisance species, hazardous spills, flood risk management, water supply, and other water resource issues.

The Upper Mississippi Waterway Association (UMWA) is an association of waterway operators, shippers, and other waterway interests working together to promote the economic and environmental benefits of water transportation in the upper midwest.
