Statewide Freight System and Investment Plan

We're working to update Minnesota’s State Freight Plan. The plan is a federally required effort that envisions the future needs to move goods and services to serve Minnesota’s economy over the next 20 years. It's vital to identify key investments in the freight system statewide and to better support the transportation of goods and services across modes. This update will link into previous statewide engagement efforts, including the Manufacturer Perspectives’ Studies and regional District Freight Plans.

Along with this, we'll work with public, nonprofit and private partners across various industry sectors to identify future investments through the Minnesota Highway Freight Program to better connect future freight investments with key freight bottlenecks, first- and last-mile connections, safety improvements and intermodal sites. We'll use this platform to keep Minnesotans updated about the development of the State Freight Plan, our public engagement events, and for online surveys or other forms of online engagement.
