Hwy 10 construction in Coon Rapids wraps up for 2025; work resumes in 2026
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – As Minnesotans brace for the return of winter weather, construction on Highway 10 between Round Lake Boulevard and Hanson Boulevard in Coon Rapids has wrapped up for the winter, with the exception of ongoing work on noise walls in the project area.
Highway 10 traffic is now traveling on three lanes in both directions and the ramp from southbound Round Lake Blvd. to eastbound Highway 10 has reopened. While the majority of work is now completed for the 2025 construction season, construction will continue on a new noise wall on the east side of the highway between Main Street and Hanson Blvd. Motorists will encounter shoulder closures throughout the winter and should use caution when workers are present.
Construction crews will return next spring to resurface and restripe the roadway, with work anticipated to be complete by late May 2026.
A project to add a third lane to Hwy 10 from Hanson Blvd. to Round Lake Blvd. in Coon Rapids begin in March 2025. The project also includes repaving Hwy 10 and adding noise walls along the highway. These improvements will provide relief from increased traffic and delays due to congestion between Round Lake Blvd. and Hanson Blvd. Once finished, this stretch of Hwy 10 will have a smoother road surface and will improve safety and drainage, as well as lessening the amount of traffic on local roads. The project is anticipated to be complete by late May 2026.
All construction activities and traffic impacts are weather dependent and subject to change. MnDOT urges motorists to always be attentive, drive with caution and slow down in work zones where workers are present.
