Night work on eastbound Highway 10 Clear Lake to Big Lake begins Sept. 2

ST. CLOUD, Minn.— The Minnesota Department of Transportation will begin nighttime resurfacing work on eastbound Highway 10 from Clear Lake to Big Lake, Sherburne County, on Tuesday, Sept. 2, with crews working overnight through Sunday morning, Sept. 7.

MnDOT will micro-surface the pavement, a process that renews the road surface and seals minor cracks, pavement ruts and other irregularities.
Work will occur nightly from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. on eastbound Highway 10 between Highway 24 in Clear Lake and Lakeshore Drive in Big Lake. Motorists should be prepared to encounter single-lane closures, lane shifts and delays. The resurfacing will be completed in segments, so expect the work area location to change and move.
After the initial resurfacing is complete, there will be a two-week pause to allow the new pavement to cure. Crews will return the week of Sept. 22-28 to apply permanent striping and final pavement markings.
All work is weather-dependent, and the schedule is subject to change.
MnDOT urges travelers to slow down and stay alert in work zones, especially at night when visibility is reduced. Watch for workers and heavy equipment.
Safety reminders:

  • Never enter a roadway that has been blocked with barriers or cones
  • Stay alert; work zones constantly change
  • Watch for workers and slow-moving equipment
  • Obey posted speed limits; fine for a work zone violation is $300
  • Minimize distractions behind the wheel

When complete, motorists will notice a smoother ride along this stretch of Highway 10.
