Public invited Aug. 20 to Northfield Hwy 19 reconstruction open house
NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The public is invited to attend a public information meeting on Aug. 20 in Northfield to learn more about the Hwy 19 reconstruction that is scheduled to occur in 2028, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
MnDOT staff and others will provide information about the project at the meeting, and people will have the opportunity to ask questions, gather information and provide their thoughts about the project.

Format: No formal presentation is planned. The project website will be updated with information from the meeting.

Project details
In 2028, a MnDOT contractor will reconstruct Hwy 19 from Decker Avenue to the Union Pacific Railroad tracks just west of Hwy 3 in Northfield and repave Hwy 19 between the railroad tracks and Hwy 3. The road will change from two lanes to add a continuous left turn in addition to the two lanes. A roundabout is proposed to be constructed at Armstrong Road. A trail will be constructed on the north side of Hwy 19 from Decker Avenue to Hwy 3 with additional improvements for pedestrians and bicycles from Armstrong Road to Hwy 3.
