Detour for Highway 22 resurfacing project between St. Peter and Highway 111 begins July 14

MANKATO, Minn. – Motorists traveling on Highway 22 between St. Peter and Highway 111 can expect a detour beginning Monday, July 14, weather permitting, as crews begin construction, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
Traffic will be detoured to Highway 111 and Nicollet County Road 15 during construction.
Construction is expected to continue until the completion of the project in mid-October. All construction activities and traffic impacts are weather dependent and subject to change.
The project includes resurfacing approximately 12 miles of Highway 22 from the intersection with Nicollet County Road 20 to Highway 111. Additional improvements include adding a right turn lane at Nicollet County Road 20, upgrading intersection lighting, and culvert repairs.
Benefits of the project include improved pavement and drainage, and increased safety with upgraded lighting and access modifications. Ulland Brothers, Inc. was awarded the project with a bid of $3,873,434.47.
