Emerald ash borer-infected tree removal along Highway 14/15 in New Ulm begins November 18
MANKATO, Minn. – Motorists are advised to use caution along Highway 14/15 (Broadway) in New Ulm starting Monday, November 18, weather permitting, as workers begin removing trees infected with Emerald Ash Borer, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
Motorists should expect temporary lane closures and minor traffic delays during tree removal operations. Drivers should also remove distractions and be aware of workers in the area.
Approximately 150 trees along Highway 14/15 (Broadway) in New Ulm have been determined to be infected by the beetle. Removal of the trees will take place in phases over time, until the infected trees have been removed. The trees will be disposed in a manner to minimize the spread of the beetle.
