About the Tribal employment report
Stakeholders use the Tribal employment report to review Tribal employment data on MnDOT projects over $5 million. Specifically, the report shows labor hours worked by self-identified Native people within the context of workforce participation and state workforce goals of women and people of color. The report also shows the number of workers by Tribal affiliation working on MnDOT projects.
Data regarding Tribal affiliation is incomplete as AASHTOWare, the database through which we collect certified payroll and workforce data, does not include an entry field for Tribal affiliation. MnDOT Office of Civil Rights gathers that information via the American Indian Employment Tracking form that prime contractors submit upon completion of construction projects.
