Policy statement

MnDOT supports the forgiveness of the remaining construction debt of the St. Lawrence Seaway in order to establish equity of shipping costs between tidewater and Great Lakes ports.

Reason for retiring the policy

Public Law 97-369, December 18, 1982, “the Saint Lawrence Seaway Corporation is hereby authorized to make such expenditures, within the limits of funds accord with law, and to make such contracts and commitments without regard to fiscal year limitations as provided by section 104 of the Government Corporation Control Act.”
