Policy statement

MnDOT shall apply in cost sharing agreements with local units of government, Federal Aid Highway categorical funds for projects consistent with the key purpose of the Federal Aid category and limited by the amount of Federal Aid likely to be available in each category.

Reason for retiring the policy

This policy and guideline refer to Federal-Aid cost participation rates dating from pre-ISTEA (Intermodal Surface Transportation Act) of 1991 Federal-Aid programs. The rates have long since become obsolete and Federal-Aid participation rates have been managed without the need for any policy statement.
