Traffic impacts

All traffic impacts are tentative and weather dependent. Access to all businesses and residences will be maintained throughout construction.

Road closures

Noon Fri, Aug. 25 through early November

• Access to Hwy 212 is closed at Co. Rd. 53 and Co. Rd. 41 (south of Hwy 212)
  • Detour: Use Village Pkwy. and Co. Rd. 36 (PNG)
• Access from Hwy 284, Co. Rd. 41 (north of Hwy 212) and Co. Rd. 36 east will be restricted to right-in (north), right-out (west) traffic only at Hwy 212
  • Detour: Use Co. Rd. 36 (PNG)

Lane closures

Sat, July 8 through early November

• Hwy 212 is reduced to one lane in both directions between just west of the western Co. Rd. 36/Hwy 212 intersection and about a half-mile east of the eastern Co. Rd. 36/Hwy 212 intersection
  • There will be head-to-head traffic on the eastbound Hwy 212 lanes while crews work on westbound Hwy 212

About this project

Crews will repair approximately 3.5 miles of Hwy 212 as it passes through the city of Cologne and portions of Benton and Dahlgren townships.

Summary of work

• Repair concrete pavement
• Resurface road shoulders
• Improvements on two bridges that cross railroad tracks, a trail and Co. Rd. 36
• Install cable median barriers and guardrails
• Drainage improvements
• Widen shoulders at reduced conflict intersection
