About this project
MnDOT will reconstruct and improve Hwy 27 (Main St.) from east of Chippewa Ave. to east of Fourth St. W in Wahkon, Mille Lacs County. Work is scheduled for 2026 and requires a detour.
MnDOT thanks the Wahkon community that came and visited with us at the outdoor open house held Tue, Aug. 20, 2024.
Summary of work
- Reconstruct the road surface
- Install curb and gutter and add underground storm sewer
- Add or update sidewalks and pedestrian approaches
- Add bike lanes along both sides of road
- Landscape and install aesthetics to enhance the downtown boulevard
