MnROAD Stockpile Area
The MnROAD Stockpile area contains the "Farm Loop," which was constructed in 2007 to test large-sized farm equipment's effect on pavement. It consists of two test cells (83 and 84) used to evaluate the impact of farm vehicles on low volume roads.
The objectives of this study are to:
- Determine the pavement response under various types of agricultural equipment including the impacts of different tires and additional axles.
- Compare those responses to that of a typical 5-axle semi tractor- trailer.
- In addition to the two new test cells, new instrumentation was added to existing concrete test cells 32 and 54 on the low volume road.
