Westbound Interstate 94 in St. Paul closing June 28-July 1 for resurfacing
ROSEVILLE, Minn. — The Minnesota Department of Transportation will close westbound Interstate 94 for resurfacing of the interstate between Western Avenue and Highway 280 in St. Paul.
Westbound I-94 will close between Western Avenue and Highway 280 beginning at 10 p.m. Friday, June 28. The ramps along the westbound interstate will close beginning at 9 p.m. The road and the ramps will reopen by 5 a.m. Monday, July 1.
During the closure, there will be no access to the westbound interstate in the project area. The detour for westbound traffic will direct motorist north on I-35E, west on Highway 36 and south on Highway 280. Eastbound I-94 will remain open.
The road repairs on the eastbound lanes in the same area will take place on two consecutive weekends in September.
The resurfacing project will provide a smoother ride for motorists using I-94. Motorists should plan ahead and give themselves additional time to reach their destinations.
