Off-peak, day-long closure of 11th St. at Hwy 97 in Forest Lake scheduled Oct. 12
ROSEVILLE, Minn. — Motorists will encounter an off-peak day-long closure at the intersection of 11th Street at Highway 97 in Forest Lake.
Beginning at 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 12, access to Highway 97 from 11th Street will temporarily close as crews pave the roadway.
Highway 97 will remain open to traffic in both directions. However, motorists will not be able to access Highway 97 from 11th Street. Motorists will be directed to follow the posted detour to 15th Avenue, 8th Street to Highway 97.
The closure is part of the Highway 97 safety improvement project. Crews are converting an existing bypass lane into a dedicated left turn lane at the 11th Street intersection. The project is expected to be complete by mid-October, weather permitting.
Once the work is completed, the improvements will enhance safety, provide better access and traffic flow in the area.
