Services provided

Building Services provides the following services to MnDOT Districts:

Provides a building program and manages emergency building repairs
Schedules new projects
Manage and tracks building energy use
Provides program and pre-design services for new and renovated buildings and sites
Hires and coordinates consultants for large capital and specialty projects
Manages construction documents, bid letting and construction administration
Provides essential services: Architectural, electrical, mechanical, structural, building drinking water and wastewater treatment systems, building automation systems, building plumbing systems and building labor compliance
Maintains building data to track building conditions and deferred maintenance

Purpose and context

MnDOT’s Building Services Section Provides prompt and efficient response that benefits the traveling public by planning, designing, building and maintaining the structures that house MnDOT personnel, equipment and supplies.

This includes leased space and facilities shared with other political subdivisions.
