MnDOT announces new regional public affairs coordinator
WILLMAR, Minn. – Sandra Schlagel is now serving as the public affairs coordinator for the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) – District 8, which encompasses twelve counties in west central and southwestern Minnesota.
“Sandra’s knowledge and experience in communications and public relations will be essential in providing information to travelers about road conditions and highway construction projects,” says Jon Huseby, district engineer for MnDOT District 8.
Schlagel has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Minnesota. She replaces Mandi Lighthizer-Schmidt, who now serves District 8 as the director of public engagement.
Schlagel is the first point of contact for reporters and the public seeking transportation-related information.
