Public open house for Hwy 19/71 project to be held July 12 in Redwood Falls

WILLMAR, Minn. — MnDOT is hosting an open house Thursday, July 12 from 5-6:30 pm at the City of Redwood Falls building (333 S Washington Street) in Redwood Falls to discuss the upcoming Hwy 19/71 project.

The Hwy 19/71 project includes the construction of a continuous two-way left turn lane from Cook Street to Patton Street. A new signal will be installed at the intersection of CR 101. Traffic signals at Dekalb Street and Swain Street will be replaced. ADA improvements (pedestrian ramps, sidewalks and driveways) are also part of the project from just west of South Minnesota Street to Patton Street and from W 11th Street to US 71.

Benefits of the project include enhanced safety at intersections, improved drainage and compliance with ADA standards. The estimated project cost is $3.6 million.

The project is scheduled to begin July 16, 2018, weather permitting, and is estimated to be complete in 50 working days. Duininck Inc. is the contractor on the project.
