Hwy 19 project from Marshall to Vesta starts Monday, August 21

WILLMAR, Minn. – The Highway 19 resurfacing project from Marshall to the Vesta will start Monday, August 21.

The project is a Cold-in place recycle (CIR) with overlay and seal coat.

A CIR consists of milling up in place bituminous pavement, crushing the materials, adding oil, remixing it, followed by re-laying the materials with a paver and compacting it.

A CIR is cost effective and environmentally friendly because it recycles existing materials and reduces trucking by not having to remove the material from the roadways while limiting the amount of new materials that need to be hauled in.

The road will be open to traffic during the work. Motorists should anticipate delays.
Duininck, Inc. is the contractor on the project.

The total project cost is $6.6 million.  For more information on the project visit mndot.gov/d8/projects/hwy19marshalltovesta/.

MnDOT asks motorists to slow down and pay attention while driving through work zones.  Motorists who speed through a work zone or who disobey work zone flaggers face a $300 fine.  Plan ahead for your travel using 511.  For updated road condition information, call 511 or visit www.511mn.org.
