Hwy 7 east of roundabout open to traffic
WILLMAR, Minn. — The Hwy 7 project started Mon, June 12 with a detour of Hwy 7 east of the US 71/Hwy 7 intersection near Blomkest to the intersection of Hwy 7 and Kandiyohi Co Rd 5. The project includes the resurfacing of Hwy 7 from the intersection of US 71/Hwy 7 to Clara City (16.4 miles).
Hwy 7 east of the intersection of US 71 and Hwy 7 is now open to traffic. The detour was planned to be removed by July 5, but needed to be extended due to wet weather.
Construction of the roundabout at the intersection of Hwy 7 and US 71 also started on June 12. This project is being constructed under traffic.

MnDOT asks motorists to slow down and pay attention while driving through work zones. Motorists who speed through a work zone or who disobey work zone flaggers face a $300 fine.
