Hwy 14 construction from Sleepy Eye to New Ulm starts May 7
MANKATO, Minn. – Motorists traveling on Highway 14 from Sleepy Eye to New Ulm will encounter lane restrictions as construction begins on Monday, May 7.
This resurfacing project will provide improved traffic safety with guardrail upgrades, rumble strips on the edge line and mumble strips on the centerline. The project is anticipated to take one month to complete.
Knife River of Sauk Rapids, MN, was awarded the project with a bid of $3,200,000.
The Highway 14 project from Sleepy Eye to New Ulm is one of three construction projects in the Sleepy Eye area for 2018. Work is scheduled to begin on May 21 for a road resurfacing project on Highway 14 in downtown Sleepy Eye and motorists will encounter a detour.
Work on Highway 4 north of Sleepy Eye is anticipated to start June 4 with a detour. This project includes the construction of a roundabout at the intersection of Highway 4 and County Road 29.
