Temporary Hwy 65 traffic signal to be installed after crash damages Albert Lea signal pole
ALBERT LEA, Minn. – An interim traffic signal will be installed Friday, July 21 in Albert Lea at Highway 65 and Garfield Avenue and should be operational early next week, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
The signal will direct traffic in the interim since the entire intersection system is planned for a new redesign and replacement in a couple of years.
A traffic signal pole was damaged recently by a crash, which forced MnDOT crews to remove the damaged equipment. The intersection of Hwy 65 (also known as East Main Street) and Garfield Avenue has had a stop sign installed since June 30 while MnDOT worked to acquire the interim equipment and arranged to have it installed.
