Northside Hwy 52 ramps at Hwy 58 in Zumbrota to close as other ramps reopen

ZUMBROTA, Minn. – Motorists on Highway 58 and Highway 52 at Zumbrota will encounter two ramp closures Tuesday, May 9 while two other ramps reopen, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

The northbound Hwy 52 off-ramp at Hwy 58 is scheduled to reopen later on Tuesday. Crews had been building a temporary bypass road to maintain access during construction to businesses on the east side of the interchange. Last Friday, the Highway 60 east interchange at Hwy 52 reopened to traffic. Crews have paved and widened an area of Hwy 60 east of Hwy 52 to allow a turnaround area for traffic to use during the next detour.

The next detour will begin Tuesday evening, May 9 when two ramps are closed on the north side of the Hwy 52-Hwy 58 interchange: the southbound Hwy 52 off-ramp and the northbound Hwy 52 on-ramp.

The detour for those closures is to go southbound to the Hwy 60 east exit. Once motorists have crossed under Hwy 52 there is a widened and paved area for motorists to turn around and take the Hwy 60 east ramp onto Hwy 52 northbound to then proceed to the Hwy 58 exit at Zumbrota. The Hwy 58 bridge remains open and motorists can connect to the west side businesses and county road via the bridge after exiting Hwy 52 northbound.
