Tree removal along Hwy 238 in Albany begins Jan. 22
ST CLOUD, Minn. – Motorists in Albany will encounter workers, heavy equipment and potential delays while crews remove trees along Highway 238 between Railroad Avenue and Auer Avenue the week of Jan. 22.
Short segments of Highway 238 will be intermittently reduced to a single lane with flaggers allowing one-way, alternating traffic through the work zone. Motorists who travel Highway 238, north of Railroad Avenue in Albany, should slow down, be prepared to stop, and move over to give crews room to complete their work.
The tree clearing is the first part of a 2018 project that will reconstruct one-third mile of Highway 238 near North Lake in Albany. Major construction is scheduled to begin June 2018.
When complete, the project will result in a smoother ride, new underground utilities, improved drainage and pedestrian accessibility.
