Hwy 238 at CR 10 intersection in Albany closes May 22
ST CLOUD, Minn. – Motorists who travel Highway 238 and County Road 10 in Albany may encounter delays as the Highway 238/County Road 10 intersection is closed after 7 a.m. Monday, May 22.
The Highway 238/County Road 10 intersection and approaching lanes will remain closed for 1-2 weeks while crews replace drainage pipes located beneath Highway 238, just south of County Road 10.
Motorists may follow the signed detour along County Road 53, or seek their own alternate routes.
Also, lane and road closures continue on other segments of Highway 238 between Albany and Upsala. Motorists should plan additional time for travel, and plan for the following lane and road closures.
- Highway 238 in Albany – The Highway 238/County Road 10 intersection will close Monday, May 22. The intersection will open by June 9. Highway 238 motorists should follow the signed detour along County Road 53 through Albany, or plan their own alternate routes. Get detour map.
- Highway 238 north of Stearns County Road 17 – Highway 238 north of Stearns County Road 17 to Morrison County Road 21/Walnut Avenue in Upsala will remain closed through mid-June. Get detour map.
- Highway 238 south of County Road 17 – Highway 238 south of Stearns County Road 17 to County Road 10 in Albany will close mid-June through mid-September. Motorists should follow the signed detour along County Roads 10 and 17, or plan their own alternate routes.
The closures are needed as part of a project to improve Highway 238 between Albany and Upsala. The project will resurface the roadway and improve the roadbed, improve shoulders and replace or repair culverts. When complete, the project will improve the ride, safety and drainage along 14 miles of rural Minnesota roadway.
